At one of the umpteen Jewel resorts scattered across the north east coast of Jamaica - the SPF team threw the biggest baddest pool party of the year… or did they.

The anticipation of the quintessential dessert land Nevada-type party experience fell deeply under the bar of expectation versus reality. Jewels Runaway bay was not The Venetian & Palazzo and sadly A-list WET was no TAO Beach – maybe its cousin three times removed. Many weekenders in attendance may share a contrasting opinion, but; good is in the details. This is day 2 of a short party weekend series and I am –by now- fully convinced that a Lorraine Fung food station is not exactly what a SPF (read UPT) crowd wants. Empty Cabanas on the fringes, south of fabulous redbull bistro tables and promo girls in washed up carnival ensembles does not exactly appropriate to a $10,000 party experience.

Did the bredrins from 4 sight entertainment properly consider the overlapping occurrence of utopia Beach in Montego Bay? And were they fully aware of the possibility of being scribed as the Dystopia to Appleton Estate Ja’s ever premium seasonal event? These were the questions that haunted me after A-list WET lawfully ended at 10pm on Emancipation day August 1st 2015.

One lowly Kingstonian temporarily held up in an Ocho Rios beachside condominium can only hope that the fabulous M7 Events will –as they did for Marbana back in April- deliver on a top Tier beach party with #SoireeSPF.

In the end A-list WET was not the coolest episode of Laguna Beach I’d imagine, but I was still Lauren Conrad and there is still to be a final swan song sung at Soiree. Wait for it…
