IN MY EARS: LIANNE LA HAVAS

Hey guys listen up, I'd like to introduce you all to the chick who's blowing up my ears right now.... she's none other than Lianne La Havas. A born Londoner Lianne's mum s in fact from yaad (Jamaica) which would explain the connection she made with Stephen McGregor who shares producing credits on Lianne's 2015 album 'Blood'. The album went onto to earning a Grammy Nomination for 'Best Urban Contemporary Album'.

Unstoppable is my favorite song of Lianne's right now. Ever since being introduced to her music by a friend I've been in love with this track. The climbs and lyrics really work together in throwing me down memory lane and I don't mind. I definitely recommend you listen this record first.

Green and Gold is that slightly more upbeat track but still manage to maintain the classic sounds Lianne is known for. With a Jamaican mother I'm itching for La Havas to confirm that the title is in fact an ode to her Mother's Land, literally. But I digress, 'Green and Gold' touches the topic of growing up and finding onself out of self doubt and time. Lianne speaks on how she found her music and began to explore life as a 23 year old and beyond. I think (lol). But don't take my word for it... click play!

All in all Lianne La Havas #InMyEars this week and she should be in yours too. Check out home girl crush her Tiny Desk concert with emotions and vocal beastings to boot! Very very Excite for Hava's new album 'Blood'.
